DESCRIPTION:\nAs a kickoff to this year's events, Farhad Aghdami will be our speaker. Well known nationwide in estate planning circles he brings his years of experience and knowledge to share recent developments, cases and rulings in estate planning.\n\n Farhad Aghdami is the Managing Partner of the Richmond office of Williams Mullen. He focuses his practice on wealth transfer tax planning, business succession planning, income tax planning for individuals and businesses, and fiduciary litigation. Farhad is a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel where he previously served as Chair of the Fiduciary Income Tax Committee and the State Chairs Steering Committee. Farhad is the immediate past Southeast Region Chair and Virginia State Chair of ACTEC. Farhad is currently a member of the ACTEC Board of Regents and he serves on the Board of Directors of the ACTEC Foundation. \n \nHe is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Southern Federal Tax Institute (SFTI) where he serves as its current President. Farhad previously served as an adjunct professor at the University of Richmond School of Law and Washington & Lee’s School of Law. \n \nFarhad is a co-author of Tax Planning for Family Wealth Transfers During Life and Tax Planning for Family Wealth Transfers at Death (both with Howard Zaritsky), and Structuring Buy-Sell Agreements (with Howard Zaritsky and Mary Ann Mancini). He is the author of numerous articles that have appeared in tax journals, including The Tax Lawyer and The Journal of Taxation and has been quoted in the New York Times and Virginia Business. Farhad is Co-Chair of the Conner-Zaritsky Advanced Estate Planning Institute sponsored by Virginia CLE. In addition, Farhad regularly speaks at advanced planning conferences and seminars, including those sponsored by the University of Miami-Heckerling Institute, ACTEC, SFTI, the ABA and the American Law Institute. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n
