This unique approach to an important challenge creates an opportunity for philanthropy to partner with a unique non-profit organization to address this challenge – permanently and at scale.\n \nSpeaker Allan Coukell, BSc (Pharmacy), is Chief Government Affairs and Public Policy Officer with Civica Inc. (Civica Rx) and President of the Civica Foundation. He previously served as Senior Director, Health Programs, at The Pew Charitable Trusts, where he created and led a wide range of public health and health care initiatives.  Coukell started his career as a clinical pharmacist in oncology and also spent many years as a health and science journalist. He has served on the board of the Reagan-Udall Foundation for the FDA and was a founding board member of the Medical Device Innovation Consortium. He is a graduate of the University of Manitoba and completed his hospital pharmacy residency at the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre.\n \n \n
